4 Self Help Techniques to Stop Rushing

Rushing around is based on fear, which is a destructive emotion. To combat the urge to rush try these 4 self help techniques.

Meditate

Meditation promotes a peaceful, calm mind. Sit quietly for 10 to minutes daily. Sit with back straight, relax each part of your body and observe your thoughts and feelings. Embrace and release. Continue until the session is complete.

Breathe Deeply

Breathing deeply calms you down, since breath is life. It might be the most simple self help practice because as long as you're alive, you're doing it. Practice breathing deeply now. Picture the breath traveling in through your nose, into your stomach and back out through the nose.

Keep your back straight, promoting the flow of energy though your being and allowing air to travel in and out of your body with less effort.

Time Your Tasks

When you feel as if you are running out of time, you rush. Time each task during your day. Be reasonable, but be strict. Don't over allow as work tends to expand to fit the time allotted for it.

Try setting a time limit of 30 minutes to an hour for daily tasks. If you are an online entrepreneur you might want to visit blogs for an hour, network on twitter for 30 minutes and set an hour aside to write a few articles, as an example.

Create a To Do List

Writing things down creates order in the mind. Since rushing is the product of a disorderly, hurried mind, written words quell this anxiety and create structure in your mind.

Self help starts and ends with you. Follow my tips and stop rushing today.
